I first started looking into my family history in 2005, initially using the GenesReunited website to document my findings, then moving to Ancestry.co.uk. Soon the additional information I gathered started to mount up, but was unorganised. In 2006 I decided to create this website to organise and publish my research.
Information is organised under three main headings, Origin, Records and Locations. As I maintain my Family Tree on Ancestry, the old site Family Listing pages have been removed. I find this a more flexible approach than maintaining a separate duplicate database as well on this site.
Some of the information is specific to my branch of the Garthwaite family, from the West Yorkshire area of England. I have also included transcripts of all Garthwaite birth and marriage indices from 1837 to 1901. Death indices have been transcribed from 1837 to 1983.
